TRUE COLORS: TRANSPARENCY OF SELF (Conclusive Thoughts)

Life is a continuous revelation, same with people. As we grow and evolve from conception to birth. From birth to early childhood, until such time that, we die our character and personality goes with evolution.

As children, how we see the world was dictated to us by the influential personalities in our lives. Other kids even imitate the ways of adults. As we continue to grow, the person in us will be revealed slowly. As we adapt with the changes that happens to us everyday. We shed off the covers that hide the person in us through our words, actions, on how we live our lives.

This “continuous revelation” is something that we call growth. Good thing that we had been given the privilege to sail on; to stir our course of action towards our goals. We have the option on what to do, and how to do things. We may choose to be transparent or, we may prefer to let the people see us with their own eyes and understanding.

It is our sole decision on how we unravel our own selves. The first step is to know and understand the foundation of our self. I think it would be best to start on deciding our perception on the general idea of the basics. I would at least set the parameter of what I see to be right and/or wrong. It’s like my personal “by-laws” of my own set of values.

As we slowly mature, the reality in us would slowly manifest. No matter what we do, we can never hide the truth about us. Some of us may choose to acknowledge our shortcomings in a forthright manner (not hiding it in the closet), others may opt to weave lies and deceit to cover them up in order to forget those limitations with the intent to coerce people around us not to see it. In this latter case, we may never be free from the bondage of guilt and deception. The sad thing is that, we are not fooling anybody except our own self.

We owe it to our Creator to make use of our borrowed time the most that we can. Must we spend it guarding our back and devising plots, with the notion that we are under attack? Reverse psychology would say that we are looking for something to attack instead. If this would be the way to spend our short moment here on earth with our borrowed breath, it would be a shame. If we made mistakes, and realized those faults, nothing would be greater in the eyes of God if we can make up to it, not by words but by actions. There goes our “continuous revelation” as we shed off the coatings of our “true colors” to attain “transparency”.
