EVOLUTION OF SELF – Revelations of One’s True Colors

A  part of a series on  transparency/true colors conceived from drippingmind’s Iluko blog.

[My personal reflections based on the wisdom that I live by; "it's not WHAT you say, but HOW you say it."]
Each of us is an embodiment of “continuous revelation”… I see life to be an evolution of beings that is continually revealed each day. This is one reason why knowing our selves and to be transparent is necessary for us to be seen in the light of our real selves (not the character that we want to become) as we go on with our own personal evolutions.Take the process how a rosebud evolve until it reach its fullest bloom. First, it is just a small, green thing. Slowly, nature’s caress will nourish and norture this bud with sunlight and dew. With each passing day, the bud will evolve and shed its exquisite beauty to be seen by all as a full blown rose with its magnificent color and radiance…
Just like a rose, each of us unfolds and evolve to be the person that we truly are. Our character could not be possibly seen in just one picture because not all circumstances are the same. The important thing is the character that goes with it. There is that certain “mark” or quality of character that is seen in our every reaction even in the light of different circumstances. This quality of character could be something that other people may connect to us…Transparency for me is like a glass and a mirror. As a “glass”, we could be easily “seen” by the ones who are looking from the outside. Untoward impressions and judgment are sometimes caused by not being understood. I do not see the need to complicate this matter. Unnecessary complications would not yield clear results. As a “mirror”, it is actually an effect wherein, the way that we are as a person would serve as “something” where other people could see a reflection of themselves. Simplified course of action is still the best way of expression. In connection to different perspectives and approaches as well as impressions and interpretations, there will always be chances of being misunderstood. We only have our selves to blame if we fail to show clarity in our personality based on how we see our selves. In one way or the other, we need to make choices. It won’t be too hard to add on humility and compassion when we make these choices so that we could see the best course of action to take…There are factors that we cannot control; especially other people’s perspectives and understanding. Doing our part to convey the correct angles and pictures maybe better if we aim for a well-balanced and harmonious relationship with people around us. It would be like a map that would guide other people to understand the person in us.Moreover, a “communication highway” bridges whatever differences of opinions people may have. Sensitivity to other people’s feelings is a must. A dialogue between the individuals concerned would be the key to closure and understanding. It could lead to clarification of things and at the same time, it would keep the bond of love stronger. Find time to do it; it’s never too late to sit and talk; over coffee, perhaps. In my opinion, the real challenge lies on how individuals express themselves in such a way that people could see and understand their personal stand and reasons;in a way that it could build bridges of humanity instead of burning them.
