As Life Unfolds

To die is to live.., and to be born again…

I have seen life to be an evolution of deaths and births. We happen to die in many ways for us be born again as better individuals. As we go through different facets of life, the truth is we will never be the same again. After a certain chapter has been finished, we are no longer the same person because our personality and character has been altered as new substance has been added or taken from it. We sometimes undergo certain struggles and tragedies, but after learning the lessons these kinds of situations bring, our old self would be replaced with an “enhanced” person within us. Would it be better or worse? That would be up to us.

The world happened to be turned upside down, or it seems. It’s like being in a roller coaster, or if you are luckier, a bump car ride. We tend to ask, “why did this happen, why me? Where did I do wrong? Do I deserve this?” Sounds like lamentations that tends to hurt us all the more as we go on feeling unfairly treated by Fate, isn’t it? Sometimes, we go on feeling bitter and betrayed. The drama is so great sometimes that we unconsciously don’t want to let go for it make us feeling righteous and heroic. If we are not careful and vigilant with our true emotions and with the reality that goes with it, this kind of drama might evolve into something tragic. Worst is, it might back-fire to us in any way. The feeling of being treated unfairly; of being a “sacrificial lamb” would become a source of pride beyond reasons and fair understanding. Bitterness might be unconsciously cultivated into selfishness and pride.

As I ponder with these thoughts, I realized that these turn-around moments doesn’t have anything to do with how we’ve been; sometimes it is a part of the bigger picture. After all, we are the main player of our own life’s stage play. The question remains; what kind of person would remain in us after these times? Would it be someone better, or otherwise? This would depend on what we have absorbed and how we handled matters; on how we allowed it to affect us. These facets of life may feel like a thousand deaths. We evolve to a new dimension, a sudden turn, a turning point in our lives.

As our life continues to evolve, as the world takes its spins and turns, chapters and events come to pass into our lives. A thing or two in us would change whether for better or for worst. One thing is definite; we change with the world. If we can make ourselves open and perceptive with the things to come, if we can truly accept that everything that life brings whether challenge or triumph is a natural phase of our own evolution, we will survive. We can truly focus on how to adapt; on how to make the most of life, and in the end, we would turn to be the winner in the end; unscratched. If we focus on seeing beyond our struggles and hardships, we will have that wider point of view and understanding why things happened and changed our lives. These “turning points” would not be as hard as they seem to be. Probably, we will emerge as better people in the end.
