This adorable human being and I started as friends since we were clueless kids… Aren’t we cute first graders? LOL.
Asseng is definitely the one person who was
there in almost every memorable moments of my life.
From the time we were learning our letters and numbers, confiding our first high school crush, his very first Palanca Awards (TRUE… I am one very proud friend of one of the best iluko writers of this generation,
Iluko is my native tongue, one of the many sub dialects spoken here in the Philippines.). and my most remarkable year happened in the same year. And of course, we were there to cheer for each other. Sure, I was there on his wedding day.
This one is the lastest of the many verses that he wrote for me.. Also posted at his own blogsite http://www.asseng.blogspot.com
An excerpt of an email: “uray iti bassit a wagas, iti wagas a kabaelak nupay ad-adu koma pay, maipakaammok, maidanonko a masansan nga idawdawatko iti kinaaddam koma iti natalingenngen a kasasaad, kanayon koma.”
sika ket rosas
agnanayon iti lagip
nupay addaak iti adayo–
naglasbangka,
nagtaeng dagiti petalo
ken nagbusel manen,
sika latta ti rosas
iti panunotko:
sitatalinaed a nalabaga,
naayamuom a mangabbukay
iti lagip a kas kamaris
ti hardin.
awan ti maris iti nagbaetanta,
dinata mapagsilpo ti ayamuom
ti amian, sika ket rosas latta
iti amin a bulong ken siitmo
ditoy barukongko.
komustakan, gyem?
These verses from my friend means a lot to me, first after few years of silence as we both dwell into our own personal lives. A reconnection of sort.:-) – ljgg
